Finding Pumpkins in Minecraft
Pumpkins usually grow in any of the grassy biomes in the Overworld. Players can find them in just about any space that is empty of other plants, but they grow most often on hills and mountains. Seeds can be extracted from the pumpkins, allowing players to plant and grow them on their own farms. Pumpkins can also be found on occasion in treasure chests on Shipwrecks and in villages.

Recipes with Pumpkins
Pumpkins are currently used in several recipes in Minecraft, some of which require the pumpkin to be carved first. These recipes are:
A Minecraft Iron Golem - One carved Pumpkin and four iron blocks A Snow Golem - One carved Pumpkin and two snow blocks Jack-o-lantern - A carved Pumpkin and a torch Pumpkin Pie - Pumpkin, sugar, and egg Pumpkin seeds - 1 Pumpkin
These giant gourds can be worn on player’s heads and can also be placed under Note Boxes to create didgeridoo-like sounds.
How to Carve a Pumpkin in Minecraft
In order to carve a pumpkin, players will first need shears. Shears are primarily used to get wool from sheep, honey from hives, but can be used to harvest certain blocks as well. To make shears, players will need two iron ingots, made from smelting iron ore in a furnace. Iron ore can be found just about anywhere underground; players most likely have a bunch laying around from mining for other, more rare rocks, like Minecraft redstone or diamonds.
Once shears have been made, place a pumpkin down on the ground, then select the shears. Press the use button on the pumpkin, and a spooky face will appear. Players can now wear it, put a torch in it, or even make a golem friend to protect their homes.
Jack-o’-lanterns make for excellent decoration and light sources in Halloween-themed or creepy haunted builds. Players can stack these carved pumpkins as well, making a tower of scary faces in their Minecraft seed. Pumpkins can also drop seeds when carved, so players should pick them up and use them to feed and breed chickens and grow even more pumpkins on their farms.
Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
