Enchantments provide boosts to the player when applied to weapons and armor, and are Minecraft Dungeons’ main method of powering up. These enchantments all stack with one another, and since many of them affect nearby allies as well, some powerful combos can be created by coordinated players.

Enchantments also serve as Minecraft Dungeons’ main source of replayability, as experimenting with different combinations and possibilities provides near endless fun. These new enchantments are likely to have a similar effect, and this is just the tip of the iceberg of what will be added by the upcoming DLC.
The first new enchantment is called Shielding, and it works in a similar manner to the current Protection enchantment. Shielding grants players reduced damage (5%/10%/14%) but also affects nearby allies as well. Since this stacks with other instances of Shielding, players that stick together could be really difficult to kill. Oddly enough, this is a common enchantment in Nanikos’ screenshot, but that will likely change. Up next is the Heals Allies enchantment, which heals nearby friends by (25%/50%/75%) of the damage taken by the player. These two abilities together could result in some crazy fun Minecraft Dungeons builds.
Barrier is another new enchantment which provides increasing damage resistance per nearby enemy (3%/6%/10%). This is obviously most useful when near large groups of enemies, but likely doesn’t work the same way as Shielding or Protection’s “reduced damage,” as being near 10 enemies at level three is not enough to make players invincible with this enchantment. Finally, a Regeneration enchantment makes an appearance, restoring health per second (0.8%/1.0%/1.2%) if the player has avoided taking damage for ten seconds. This will no doubt be helpful to recover health between battles, but more cautious players could even use it to heal up mid fight.
These are all that have leaked so far, but more likely than not more will come in the near future and these options will provide players new ways to use enchantments to complement their playstyle. Nanikos has gained access to both DLCs early and has begun sharing screenshots and the like, so more enchantment options should be cropping up soon.
Minecraft Dungeons is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
