In a special 35-minute stream, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate producer and director Masahiro Sakurai announced the new addition to the fighting game, and explained how the character works in a detailed demo.

Min Min’s DLC, who is the first fighter of six in the second Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, will release on June 29.

You can watch the demo stream below.

There are 15 characters in the ARMS game, and Sakurai said that when he was inquiring about putting one of the ARMS fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, series producer Kosuke Yabuki asked to put Min Min in.

Sakurai himself was torn between Min Min and Ninjara, but Yabuki’s wishes put the female fighter over the top.

Spring Man, who is the poster boy for ARMS, was a popular guess when the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character reveal was teased back in June. However, Yabuki explained that Spring Man isn’t the protagonist of ARMS—all of the characters are.

When Min Min is released, she’ll come with a new stage based on one of the arenas from ARMS, as well as new song tracks from the fighting game.

A new set of Mii Fighter costumes will also be released on June 29. Players can now customize their Mii Fighters with the following costumes:

Ninjara from ARMSHaihachi from the Tekken seriesMarie and Callie from the Splatoon seriesVault Boy from the Fallout series

It was also revealed that the Joker amiibo will release some time in the fall. Hero, from the Dragon Quest series, will also be receiving an amiibo which is currently in development. Sakurai announced that they hope to have amiibo for all of the DLC characters, but no information on the others were released.

Meanwhile, Sakurai revealed that once Volume 2 is complete there are no plans for more Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC at this time. There are currently six additional DLC fighters that have joined the roster since launch.

Piranha Plant was the first, as an early purchase bonus, while the other five were part of Fighters Pass Vol. 1. These fighters included: Joker from Persona 5, The Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo-Kazooie, Terry Bogard from the King of Fighters series, and Byleth, the main character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for Nintendo Switch.
