The busy Enola Holmes 2 poster shared by the streaming giant with the caption “Tis who?” It encapsulates the mystery theme of the film perfectly. The movie is a sequel to the 2020 Enola Holmes, which was based on the first young adult novel in a series written by Nancy Springer. It introduced fans to the popular detective Sherlock Holmes’ teenage sister, Enola, portrayed wonderfully by Millie Bobby Brown. It remains to be seen what journey she will go on this time around, but if the poster is anything to go by, it seems like she will have her hands full once again.

The Enola Holmes 2 poster features lead actors Brown and Henry Cavill, who will be reprising the role of Sherlock in the sequel. Apart from the two, fans will also be able to spot other cast members, including Helena Bonham Carter, David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Louis Partridge, Hannah Dodd, and Adeel Akhtar. The image of the bustling street seems like a comment on both Enola and Sherlock’s ability to blend into the crowd with ease.

The poster is intriguing in many ways, as it doesn’t even reveal the official title of the upcoming sequel. It urges fans to spot the actors in character and returns them to the quirky world of Enola and her mystery-solving spirit. The plot of Enola Holmes 2 still remains a mystery for fans, but if the creators were to follow the books and base the second film on the second book in Springer’s series, titled The Case of the Left-Handed Lady, then Brown’s Enola will be seen working on the case of a missing woman named Lady Cecily Alistair.

The first film focused on Enola’s attempts to solve the case of her mother’s disappearance. The film also starred Sam Claflin as her brother Mycroft, with Carter playing the role of Enola Holmes’ mother Eudoria. Brown’s portrayal of Enola was appreciated by both fans and critics, and even though the film missed out on its theatrical release due to the ongoing pandemic, it was considered a success in Netflix’s books. Fans are now waiting for the first trailer for the upcoming sequel to be released. However, with no confirmed release date, it is unclear when the trailer will drop.

Enola Holmes is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2022.
