In a short statement released by the Blue & White, 'Caps head coach Carl Robinson thanked the former Scotland international for his efforts during a spell that lasted less than two years.
"We are thankful for the contributions Kenny made both on and off the pitch during his time in Vancouver," Robinson said in Sunday's statement. "He has been a great role model, a constant professional, and someone who I consider a very good friend. We wish him and his family all the best."
Signed as the club's fourth Designated Player in the summer of 2012, Miller leaves Whitecaps FC after registering 13 goals and three assists in 43 total appearances that spanned three MLS campaigns. This season, the 34-year-old had three goals and an assist in nine appearances for Robinson's squad.
Miller's future in Vancouver was the topic of regular debate recently, with his MLS contract due to expire next month. During his time with the 'Caps, the goalscorer had been linked with a return to his native Scotland, and in particular his former club Rangers FC.
As a Designated Player, Miller's departure will free up a significant amount of salary cap space for the Whitecaps. This season, the striker was expected to make $940,000 as guaranteed compensation.
