After debuting in March 2006, Hannah Montana ran for four seasons, concluding in January 2011. Besides the Plastic Hearts singer, the show also starred her father, “Achy Breaky Heart” singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Cyrus tweeted the letter to Hannah, discussing many of the experiences she had on the show, including taping an audition in Nashville, driving to work with her dad and grandmother, and “falling in love for the first time.”

“You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon [and] never let me back down,” Cyrus wrote on a glittery piece of Hannah Montana stationery. “You have all my love [and] upmost gratitude. Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor. I am indebted not only to you Hannah but to anyone [and] everyone who believed in me from the beginning.”

In a touching memory, Cyrus also recounted her grandfather, who died before the premiere, seeing a commercial for Hannah Montana and calling it “one of the proudest moments of his life.” Cyrus also said she was honored to “carry his name besides my dads [sic] through every credit.”

Cyrus also thanked the team and her family for the support they offered her while making the show. She ended the note by calling the character “the greatest gift a girl could ask for.”

While many fans celebrated Hannah Montana’s 15th anniversary, some who have followed Cyrus’ career also saw the letter as a moment of immense growth for the 28-year-old singer. A few others were simply moved by Cyrus’ heartfelt tribute to her former alter ego.

Some people also simply reflected on their own nostalgia for Hannah Montana to celebrate the anniversary of the show’s debut.

Cyrus did receive one very noteworthy reply: a verified Hannah Montana Twitter account quote-tweeted her letter. “Nice to hear from you @MileyCyrus. It’s only been a decade,” the account said.

While there’s nothing definite, the response did appear to get some fans excited for the possibility of a Hannah Montana reboot, but this does appear to just be fan speculation and high hopes. One person did use the opportunity to call for other Disney Channel reboots as well, including The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and That’s So Raven.

Newsweek has reached out to contacts for Miley Cyrus for comment, who referred to the letter.
