“He should be president of the United States,” he said.
Why should he be the president? Tyson couldn’t come up with many reasons, but he did say a change of pace would be nice.
“Let’s try something new. Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job,” he said.
It should be noted Tyson and Trump have a history together. The wealthy businessman once promoted Tyson’s fights in Atlantic City. Trump also defended Tyson when the boxer was accused of rape in 1992 and said he shouldn’t be imprisoned.
On Monday, Tyson defended Trump when he was asked about the questionable comments the presidential candidate made about Latinos.
“He didn’t know how to say it,” Tyson said. “It was really crude, and he needs somebody to work with him on how to deliver his messages and stuff.
“But as far as what he did, he’s an average guy like everybody else. He needs time to grow, too. I don’t think he thinks of Latinos in that way.”
