But just for a second, can we just appreciate how good of a player Mike Trout is?
In his illustrious career, Ken Griffey Jr. never posted a 10.0 WAR season. In just six years, Trout has already posted two 10.0 WAR seasons. And for comparison, the legendary player whom Trout is often compared to, Mickey Mantle, posted three 10-plus WAR seasons.
It’s not a stretch to say Mike Trout is on a Hall of Fame arc, even so early on in his career — and even if he has yet to taste extended postseason play with the Angels. In his only postseason appearance in 2014, the Angels were swept by the eventual American League champion Royals.
But, most importantly, Trout might be a wizard.
The Angels went on to beat the Mariners by a 5-4 tally.
