Trout, the Angels and the Royals played through rain and, later, snow showers at Kauffman Stadium, with the Halos prevailing 5-3. Trout homered through the precip in the fifth inning.
MLB WRAP: Cubs stun Braves in cold, rainy Chicago
“I love snow, but it was tough,” Trout told reporters, per the Orange County Register. (Side note: Trout is intensely interested in meteorology when he isn’t being good at baseball.)
Trout said he couldn’t see the ball in his last at-bat in the ninth inning (he struck out).
He also hinted that even people from Jersey have limits when it comes to weather.
“It brings me back to my high school days,” Trout said, per the Register. “We’d have been snowed out, though. We wouldn’t have played.”
Trout and his mates have to be looking forward to their trip home after Sunday’s game. Weather.com predicts temperatures in the 70s in Anaheim next week.
