The Los Angeles Angels are working to complete a multiyear contract with Mike Trout at some point this season, according to the Los Angeles Times. And the deal will be a huge one, even though Trout isn't yet eligible for salary arbitration.

The Times' Mike DiGiovanna writes that the pact will make the 22-year-old outfielder "one of baseball's highest-paid players." Are we talking A-Rod/Robinson Cano/Clayton Kershaw/Joe Mauer/Josh Hamilton territory in terms of average annual value here?

What's Trout reaction to all this? Don't know. Besides, he's focused on the bad weather in the Northeast.

Don't worry, Mike: You'll probably be able to buy an Arizona subdivision or two with the new contract and get out of the cold.
