The Blue Devils coach admitted to ESPN he’s on social media, but says he doesn’t need to create an official account.

“I follow guys,” he said. “I don’t want to be on Twitter because I don’t care. I don’t want their opinions. I don’t need to show that I have X amount of followers. But I follow a lot of people on Twitter, under an alias. I tell my guys I’m following you. Then if I see something, you text them, you gotta watch. But there are a lot of cool things that they do. I do like that they do it.”
It’s neat to see Coach K embrace players using social media. If used properly, it can be a great outlet to connect with fans. If used incorrectly, it can turn into a world of unwanted media attention and drama.
Duke players need to always be cautious because you never know when Coach K is going to be checking his timeline.
On a side note, someone needs to find this mystery account.
