Despite being listed as questionable heading into the game due to facial fractures, Conley returned to the floor and scored 22 points in Game 2, including a clutch 3-pointer in the fourth quarter that kept the momentum on Memphis’ side.

Conley broke several bones in his face during Game 3 of Memphis’ first-round series against Portland. He missed that series’ last two games and Sunday’s opener against Golden State. That didn’t stop him Tuesday, however, as Conley came out on fire, hitting his first four shots for nine first-quarter points. For the game, he shot 8 for 12 and turned the ball over just once.
“It was huge to see the ball go in,” Conley told TNT after the game. “The first couple of shots I was a little bit nervous trying to get back in the motion of things, but I’m just happy the way the team performed.”
Conley’s comeback underwent a brief setback in the second quarter when he was hit in the eye by Warriors forward Draymond Green, and he went down again in the fourth with leg cramps. Still, his spirited effort for the underdog Grizzlies may have been the spark Memphis needed to steal a game on the road before heading home.
