“Tonight’s the big night! The votes are in, and the awards we’ve all been waiting for are about to be announced,” Bloomberg’s campaign team tweeted on Sunday evening. “These are the #Donalds.”

As Bloomberg’s team began to announce a string of awards in the mock ceremony, it soon became clear that only one nominee would be sweeping up the majority of the Sunday night awards: President Donald Trump, of course.

“The award for MOST LIES TOLD IN ONE SPEECH goes to…” “Donald J. Trump for his one hour post-acquittal East Room speech,” Team Bloomberg announced in a tweet, sharing video of the president making his East Room statement following his impeachment trial.

“The award for OUTSTANDING HYPOCRISY” also went to Trump, for being “that guy who is always condemning people for disrespecting the national anthem,” despite appearing to joke around during the anthem in a video published by Team Bloomberg.

The president won 11 awards in total, including the “BEST PLAN TO KEEP US SAFE FROM THE KLINGONS” for launching his “U.S. Space Force” and the award for “OUTSTANDING FREUDIAN SLIP” for once accidentally appearing to tell Fox News hosts that he does “want always corruption.”

He was also mocked over his ongoing efforts to get at least 450 miles of border wall built between the U.S. and Mexico by the end of 2020, with the Bloomberg campaign team awarding Trump first prize for “BEST FICTIONAL WALL.”

Sharing a viral video of a section of Trump’s border wall being blown over by the wind, the Bloomberg campaign team did not bother to explain why Trump deserved the award, appearing to believe the footage alone would suffice.

The border wall section was blown over earlier this year, prompting widespread ridicule from critics of the project.

Photos and video of the January incident showed a section of wall between Calexico and Mexicali leaning at a sharp angle across the border into Mexico after high winds blew it over during construction.

In a statement sent to Newsweek at the time, Ralph DeSio, a spokesperson at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, which oversees border wall construction, explained that only a “handful of panels” were affected.

“No property damage or injuries were sustained during this uncommon event while the concrete was drying and construction remains ongoing,” he said, adding that “the border wall system is imperative to securing the border and is what border patrol agents have asked for and need to maintain operational control of the southern border.”

That did not stop critics from taking the opportunity to mock Trump over the incident, however, with the president now earning a “Donald” over the border wall snafu.

Newsweek has contacted both the Trump and Bloomberg campaign teams for comment.
