Developer Firaxis Games, also known for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, announced a few months ago that its latest turn-based combat RPG will have four additional content packs adding Deadpool, Venom, Morbius and Storm to the team of superheroes. The first DLC featuring the popular, immortal superhero will also expand the game’s story and The Abbey, a base of operations from which players access the missions and chat with the rest of the heroes. It’s unclear exactly when Deadpool will drop, but Firaxis is dropping enough hints that fans know they can expect him sooner rather than later.

Deadpool’s Midnight Suns Appearance Will Take Place In a Month’s Time

The first Midnight Suns content pack to be released in early 2023 is one of the most anticipated. An official Twitter post shared on New Year’s Day specified that Deadpool’s appearance would take place in about a month. It is not yet known if it will be within exactly one month, launching February 1, or if it will arrive by the end of January. In any case, there is not much time left to see Deadpool’s fondness for violence, light jokes, and breaking the fourth wall.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns first introduced Deadpool in October 2022, almost two months before the release of the base game. He was originally going to be part of the launch team, but Firaxis decided not to include him because the character has such an overwhelming personality that he could overshadow the rest of the cast. Although Deadpool has not yet been released, users already get to see his new appearance with a gold, white, and black suit, including a witch’s hat. It’s not yet known what his gameplay tactics or social RPG features will look like.

Each Season Pass DLC will feature a hero and new story missions, updates for The Abbey and a selection of unique masks and outfits for the heroes. Narrative content is not expected to be added; instead it appears that these expansions will arrive with new lines of dialogue for each hero. Characters will be able to accompany players on general quests or be sent on field ops missions, but the most exciting thing will undoubtedly be seeing how they behave together.

Venom, Morbius, and Storm Will Also Be Added to Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Firaxis has also revealed that Venom, Morbius and Storm will be added to the roster of heroes. Venom, who was already one of the game’s bosses, should be one of the more interesting additions when his expansion is released. On the other hand, Storm is the second core X-Men character to appear after Wolverine. Morbius has also apparently been in the pipeline for quite some time, but his memeworthy status from the Jared Leto film should garner Midnight Suns extra attention. At this point it’s unknown whether more characters from the Marvel universe to make their way into the game.

While each individual character DLC is not yet priced, the standalone Season Pass costs $50 - and is included in the Legendary Edition of Marvel’s Midnight Suns for $100 total. In addition to the new skins and outfits that each of the DLC will include at launch, the Legendary Edition includes the Legendary Premium Pack with 23 premium skins. Hopefully the individual price points will become known as fans get closer to seeing Deadpool arrive, be it this month or the next.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions coming later.
