If latest reports from The Mirror are to be believed, they are due to bring Enzo Zidane, son of Real Madrid boss and legend Zinedine Zidane, on a season-long loan. Boro boss Karanka was the former Real assistant under Jose Mourinho, and has played with Zinedine Zidane before. His football philosophy is well known by the Los Blancos boss and that could prove instrumental in finalizing a deal for the Premier League club.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been a regular for the Real Madrid B team and scored 2 goals in 26 appearances last season. His father provided him a breakthrough to the first team in the match against PSG, which Real lost 3-1 last week. However, a starting berth for the midfielder at the Bernabeu seems a distant possibility this season, and the club management is keen to chalk out a plan that will serve as a perfect development plan for the junior Zidane.

Two Spanish clubs Alcorcon and Sporting Gijon, along with an unnamed Italian club, have shown interest for the midfielder and they promise to offer regular playing time. However, Middlesbrough seems to be in the driving seat to secure a deal.

Recently, manager Aitor Karanka played a masterstroke in convincing experienced Goalkeeper Victor Valdes and striker Alvaro Negredo to join the club, which may be pivotal for their stay in the top tier. In addition to that two midfielders, Marten de Roon and Gaston Ramirez, have already been signed in with a whopping £12.75 million spent on the former.

It’s unsure whether Real will agree to a deal at this stage for the player who has joined the club back in 2004. But given the fact that they want the midfielder to develop in the best possible way, a move for the young midfielder to the most demanding league in the world is always on the cards. For Middlesbrough though it will be a win-win situation if they get a loan deal in their favour.
